Thanks so much for your interest in the G.R.A.C.E. Based youth ministry seminar!
After 19 years in student ministry, I am convinced that our responsibility as youth workers is not to
just have a “youth group”. Rather, we need to take seriously our mandate to make disciples, and
in doing so, to see youth ministry as a channel through which God’s grace can be poured into the
lives of our students. After all, grace is the catalyst for knowing Christ and living in Him.
My goal for the seminar is to present an approach to youth ministry that will inform your leaders,
Sunday School teachers and parents, while at the same time equipping them to effectively engage
the students under their care.
G.R.A.C.E. Based Student Ministry consists of five essential elements.
G - get acquainted...
Create relationally safe environments designed to introduce students to your student ministry.
R - respond to Christ...
Provide opportunities for students to clearly understand and respond to God’s promise of hope in
Jesus Christ, and for believing students to confidently take the next step in their walk with Christ
A - apply truth
Consistently offer solid, yet creative Biblical teaching that empowers students to make life
Consistently offer solid, yet creative Biblical teaching that empowers students to make life
decisions based on God’s perspective.
C - connect with culture
Using a “Mars Hill Mindset”, students should be equipped to confidently understand, engage,
and influence culture with their faith.
E - engage in ministry
By discovering the gifts and abilities of the students, they are enabled to serve God in their
relationships, their church, and their world.
G.R.A.C.E. based student ministry approach is effectively adaptable to any church environment
desiring to take their student ministry to the next level.
